ALBANY AGRICULTURE SHOW
Albany Orchid Society will be involved in the 2023 Albany Agricultural Show. https://www.albanyshow.org.au/ The show is on Friday 9 th and Saturday 10th November and runs from 9am to 5.00pm, Ron will be setting up on Thursday 8th from 1.00pm. If you can help with setting up, please do so. As usual, when volunteers are heading towards the gate they can ring Ron or Lynda and they will meet them at the gate with an entry pass. This year we are not being charged for our display area, whereas in previous years the club has been charged a fee. Please bring your show plants in on Thursday afternoon to be placed on the trestles, ready for the show. If you are bringing plants to the show for sale please list them with their names, prices etc. and give your list to Ron on arrival, to be filed. There will be a roster drawn up for members to fill in to help with looking after the tables during the show, and speaking with the public, as well as setting up on Thursday afternoon and with the taking down of the tables on Saturday afternoon. We will need to be there from 8.30 am until 5.00 pm each day. Ron Panting will stay on both Thursday and Friday until the doors are locked, to ensure our display plants etc are not tampered with. Those members who have been involved in previous years had a lot of fun being there; hopefully you will be able to spend some time helping to promote our wonderful club.
CUPPA MORNING
Our next cuppa morning is at Handasydes Café, Chester Pass Road at 10am on Friday 17th November. Hope to see you there. We will be seated in ‘The Hayshed’. It’s a fairly new section, recently renovated and now open for large gatherings. By the way they have strawberries for sale.
AOS TROPHY LUNCHEON
On Sunday 19th November at 12pm a trophy luncheon will be held at the Premier Hotel, a special event to celebrate with our members on their successes at our shows. The trophies and awards from both the winter and spring shows will be presented at the luncheon. We will be seated in the upstairs dining room. When you arrive at the hotel you can order and pay for your meals and drinks downstairs then get the lift up to the dining room; we have the room booked exclusively for AOS members. Here is a link to the Premier Hotel’s menu to copy and paste into your google search bar. https://premierhotelalbany.com.au/food-drinks/
