Events this Month

Morning Tea

Friday the 13th January at ‘The View’ at the Entertainment Centre at 10 am.

Agriculture Show

Our annual Sarcochilus display which was incorporated into the Agriculture show again this year was a huge success, with many compliments on our display, one of them being from the Agricultural Society President. Well done to all who contributed plants to display and to those who ‘manned’ the sales table.

Committee Meeting

The next committee meeting will be held on Friday 20th January 2023 at 1.30 at Vancouver Café.

Christmas Dinner

The Christmas Dinner this year was held at the Bridge Club Rooms with quite a few members attending, we all enjoyed the wonderful food supplied by our members, not to mention the decadent desserts, Thank you, Julie thanked Carol and Barbara for organising it. This was followed by the Annual Awards Presentation which were presented by Julie as Murray unfortunately had a prior engagement and couldn’t attend. I don’t have a full list of all those who received awards, but Congratulations to those who received them.

Web Site

Glen is still trying to contact Simon who designed our website to make some changes, but isn’t having much luck, he has a new lead on how to contact him, so will continue tyring.

Term Deposit

Julie suggested that we invest the money from the former term deposit for a month to generate some income, it has been in our normal account waiting for interest rates to improve before reinvesting it, Glen will investigate the possibilities.

Benching Results

The publishing of the benching results in the newsletter was discussed as the Judging Panel want a more detailed report, so from next year the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters in every category will be published.

Raffle

The winners of the raffle this month were Edna Murdoch and Jenny Ridgway, because of the lunch there wasn’t a door prize this month, so a 3rd raffle draw was held, the winner was Libby, Congratulations

Happy Birthday to all those celebrating a “Special Day” this month.
Best wishes to anyone feeling under the weather, we hope you start feeling better soon.

Wishing Everyone a Wonderful Christmas and a Very Happy , Safe and Prosperous New Year.
See you in 2023.
