Price Rise
Shirley reported that prices for consumables is going to increase substantially in the near future, but Ron reported that luckily for us, he has plenty in stock.
Workshop
The workshop held at Julies recently went very well with lots learned by those that attended, thank you Julie.
Orchidup Visit
David has confirmed that we can visit him again on the 3rd November, he will again supply us with lunch, to those who haven’t attended one of these visits, please try to make this one, it really is a wonderful day out, lets just hope it isn’t bucketing with rain this time.
AGM Nomination Forms.
Glen brought up the matter of the nomination forms, Julie moved a motion to change the way we’ve been doing it to a secret nomination only to be read at the A.G.M, the members voted to keep it the way it has operated for the last couple of years.
Clarence House Visit
Shirley has contacted Clarence House and they are keen to have us again, a date has yet to be arranged.
P.A.System
Seeing as the current pa system is proving popular, Carol presented the meeting with some photos of what is available and the prices of them. A decision on which one will suit our needs the best will be made at the next meeting.
Presentation
Barbara presented Julie with a certificate from The Australasian Native Orchid Society who state that Julie is Competent to Judge Australian and Australasian Native Orchid Species and Hybrids, Congratulations Julie, she told us that she actually passed the examination 2 years ago and the certificate has only just turned up, that gives “Snail Mail” a whole new meaning
Raffle Results:- Our winners this month were Carol and Glen, congratulations
Door prize:- The lucky winner was Jenny Brass, congratulations.
Winter Show
The winter show was a great success with lots of comments from the public complimenting us on how lovely it all looked and on our beautiful orchids. The results are attached.
Happy Birthday to all those celebrating a “Special Day” this month.
